Career Launch

Privacy Policy

Effective Date: April 10, 2026

1. Introduction

Career Launch, operated by Gyre Holdings LLC d/b/a Career Launch ("we", "us", or "our"), respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our platform.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide:

  • Account information (name, email address, password)
  • Profile data (career interests, education, skills)
  • Content you create (resumes, cover letters, interview responses)
  • Job and internship save/bookmark preferences
  • Payment information (processed securely by Stripe; we do not store card numbers)

Information collected automatically:

  • Usage data (pages visited, features used, time spent, scroll depth)
  • Device information (browser type, operating system, viewport size)
  • Performance metrics (page load times, Core Web Vitals)
  • Search queries entered on the platform
  • Click and interaction patterns (to improve usability)
  • Session identifiers (anonymous, no cross-site tracking)
  • IP address and approximate location

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide and maintain the Service
  • Personalize your experience and AI coaching recommendations
  • Process payments and manage subscriptions
  • Send service-related communications (account updates, security alerts)
  • Improve the Service through usage analytics
  • Respond to support requests

4. AI Processing

Our Service uses artificial intelligence to provide career coaching, resume feedback, and interview practice. Your inputs (text, resume content, interview responses) may be processed by AI models to generate personalized advice. We do not use your personal content to train AI models. AI-generated responses are not stored beyond your current session unless you explicitly save them.

5. Third-Party Sign-In and Email Integration

You may optionally sign in using your Google account. When you do, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google. We do not receive or store your Google password.

You may optionally connect your Gmail or Outlook account to send outreach emails through our platform. When you connect, we receive an OAuth access token that allows us to send emails on your behalf. We encrypt these tokens at rest using AES-256 encryption. We do not read, store, or access any of your existing emails — the permission is limited to sending only. You may disconnect your email account at any time from your Account Settings page, which immediately revokes our access.

6. Third-Party Data Sources

Our job listings, company information, and labor market intelligence are aggregated from publicly available sources including employer career pages, government databases (USAJobs.gov, Department of Labor WARN Act filings, H-1B LCA disclosure data), and public RSS news feeds. This data is publicly available and does not contain personal information about individual job seekers.

7. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with:

  • Stripe — for payment processing (subject to Stripe's privacy policy). We do not store credit card numbers.
  • Anthropic (Claude AI) — your assessment responses, resume content, and interview answers are sent to Anthropic's Claude API for AI-powered coaching. Anthropic does not use this data to train models. See Anthropic's privacy policy.
  • Google — if you sign in with Google or connect Gmail, authentication data flows through Google's OAuth2 service. See Google's privacy policy.
  • Microsoft — if you connect Outlook, authentication data flows through Microsoft's OAuth2 service. See Microsoft's privacy policy.
  • Service providers — who assist in operating the platform (hosting, email delivery), under strict confidentiality agreements
  • Legal authorities — when required by law, subpoena, or court order, or to protect our rights, safety, or property

We do not share your personal information with advertisers, data brokers, or any other third parties not listed above.

6. Data Security

We implement appropriate security measures to protect your information, including:

  • HTTPS encryption for all data in transit
  • Hashed passwords (never stored in plain text)
  • HTTP-only cookies for authentication tokens
  • Restricted file permissions on stored data

No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active.

Account deletion: You may permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from your Account Settings page. Deletion is immediate and irreversible. When you delete your account, we hard-delete (not soft-delete) the following data across all systems:

  • Your user account and authentication credentials
  • Profile, personality assessments, and career preferences
  • Skills inventory and career direction data
  • Resumes, cover letters, and candidate profiles you created
  • Job matches, recommendations, and pipeline tracking data
  • Mock interview sessions and STAR scoring history
  • Outreach templates and follow-up tracking
  • Offer comparisons and negotiation data
  • Social media scan results
  • Payment plan records
  • Session and telemetry data linked to your account
  • Two-factor authentication secrets and backup codes
  • OAuth email integration tokens

Deletion requires re-entry of your password as confirmation. After deletion, your data cannot be recovered by us or by you. Anonymized, aggregated analytics data (which cannot be linked back to you) may be retained.

Automatic data retention limits: Telemetry events are automatically purged after 90 days. News signal data is purged after 180 days. Job recommendation history is purged after 365 days.

10. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Correction — request correction of inaccurate data
  • Deletion — permanently delete your account and all data (self-service via Account Settings, or by contacting us)
  • Portability — request your data in a machine-readable format
  • Opt out — unsubscribe from non-essential communications (daily digest emails include an unsubscribe link)
  • Restrict processing — request that we limit how we use your data
  • Withdraw consent — for optional features like Gmail/Outlook integration, you may disconnect at any time

To exercise any of these rights, use the self-service tools in your Account Settings or contact us at legal@careerlaunch.now. We will respond within 30 days.

11. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):

  • The right to know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose
  • The right to request deletion of your personal information
  • The right to opt out of the sale of your personal information — we do not sell your personal information
  • The right to non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights

To exercise your CCPA rights, contact us at legal@careerlaunch.now or use the account deletion feature in your Account Settings.

12. Communications

Transactional emails: We send account-related emails (welcome, password reset, payment confirmation) that are necessary for the Service to function. These cannot be opted out of while your account is active.

Daily job digest: Paid subscribers receive a daily email with up to 3 personalized job recommendations. You may unsubscribe from digest emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in the email or from your Account Settings.

Pipeline status reports: Administrators receive operational status emails about data pipeline performance. These are internal only.

13. Cookies and Local Storage

We use essential cookies for authentication (JWT session tokens stored in HTTP-only cookies). We use browser local storage for session identifiers (anonymous telemetry) and user preferences (cookie consent status). We do not use third-party tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or cross-site tracking of any kind.

14. Data Processing Location

Your data is processed and stored on servers located in the United States. By using the Service, you consent to the transfer and processing of your data in the United States.

15. Two-Factor Authentication

If you enable two-factor authentication (2FA), we store an encrypted TOTP secret associated with your account. This secret is used solely to verify your identity during login. Backup codes are generated once during setup — we do not retain a copy after they are displayed to you. If you disable 2FA, the secret is permanently deleted from our systems.

16. Children's Privacy

The Service is intended for users who are at least 18 years old or college-aged. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly.

17. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes by posting the updated policy on the Service with a revised effective date.
